Black Magic™ wireless remote control: The latest in motorcycle LED controllers from Street Magic® Cycle Products is the Black Magic™. This wireless controller features three patterns of strobe, a “breathing” function, and a manual dimming function, allowing 75%, 50%, and 25% of the LEDs’ brightness. The control box can be tucked easily under most bike seats. The Black Magic™ also features two controller key fobs (with sliding covers to protect the buttons).

Hyper Strip™ Products are unsurpassed in quality and reliability. The world’s first strip lighting for motorcycles is still the best! Hyper Strips™ feature oval-shaped, military grade LEDs. The lenses on the LEDs create a 70º x 30º angle of light dispersion. These lenses allow for excellent lateral glow; the light pattern from each bulb overlaps the next so you see no spotting effect, just a smooth, even glow. Hypers come pre-taped with exterior grade 3M VHB tape. When used with the 3M Promoter, they have outstanding adhesive power. Hyper Strips™ are totally flexible (they can actually be tied in a knot). They are conformal coated (dipped in a resin) to give them superior resistance to moisture.

Hyper Strip™ :The full Hypers are 12 inches long, feature 18 oval-shaped, military grade LEDs. They are designed to fit up under the lip of a gas tank on a big twin Harley (or another bike with a similar gas tank configuration). They come in pairs with a right- and left-hand strip so that you can get excellent lighting coverage with only two wires coming off the back of the tank. Hypers have 24 inch leads

Hyper Sixes: are 3 inches long, feature 6 bulbs, and come with 40” leads. Hyper Sixes are used behind horn covers and air cleaner back plates, etc. Right-hand Sixes (the wire comes off the other side) are available for use on the right side of a rear fender so that the wires will both come forward (and not have to be looped back around).

Mini Hypers: are 1½ inches long, feature 3 bulbs, and have 40” leads.

STEP LIGHTS / COURTESY LIGHTS

Often referred to as “Pods,” Step Lights feature 3 LEDs in a small rectangular case with a chrome finish. They have 36 inch long leads. The outermost LEDs in each case are set at an angle to create a wider angle of light than the width of the case would ordinarily allow. Step Lights are used anyplace where the fixture will be exposed and the LEDs would otherwise be visible.

Often referred to as “Pods,” Courtesy Lights feature 4 LEDs in a small oval-shaped case with a chrome finish. They have 36 inch long leads. Courtesies are used anyplace where the fixture will be exposed and the LEDs would otherwise be visible.

WHEEL LIGHTZ

The world’s first! Wheel Lightz™, specifically designed from-the-ground-up to be used for motorcycle wheel lighting effects, provide unparalleled performance for this application. When properly affixed to the back side of a front or rear caliper, they shine inward toward the hub and outward toward the rim simultaneously. Wheel Lightz™ feature 10 high-power LEDs set at the appropriate angles to provide SPECTACULAR coverage and brightness, all in one easy to install unit. Pre-wired with 72 inch leads, Wheel Lightz™ allow for one continuous unbroken lead, able to be run from the wheel to the seat/battery area. This extra length provides for unmatched ease of installation for almost all standard applications. Wheel Lightz™ are available in chrome cases.

Fuel Injection Notice

Some fuel-injected models may experience the engine light intermittently coming on. This condition is caused by the neon wires having a "different” resistance than the “stock” wires. This "difference" is not a problem, but is just that, "different" than stock.

The reason this happens only on fuel-injected models is as follows: The Harley Davidson engineers had this wonderfully powerful new computer on these models anyway, so they thought they would incorporate some "cool extras" into its’ on-board diagnostic functions.

The fuel-injected models have a fourth wire in the coil, which carburetor models do not, called the ION Sensor. This sensor measures the resistance in the ignition wires at high load and at high speeds. It basically checks the wires, as you ride, to see what condition they are in. The computer, being just that, a "computer," lives in a world of 1’s and 0’s. It must have pre-programmed limits to look for, and only knows what its’ program tells it is “okay” or "normal." Being that the neon is much more efficient than the stock wires, it will show as an "open" when checked with only 12 volts. The reading for their resistance falls outside of the computer’s programmed limits. This is not necessarily a bad thing, just outside what the computer was told to look for as “normal.” Hence when it sees these more efficient wires with a "different" firing resistance, all it knows is that it is "different" from what it was told it should see.

So, it turns on the light to let you know it saw something "different." This can happen even when you change wire brands that don't have neon in them, such as solid core wires or steel braided cables. This function of the ION sensor and computer is for "Diagnostic purposes only" (as stated in the Harley Davidson Fuel injection manual part # 99498-02 on page 5-67). Which means that it is only for the purpose of checking the wire and secondary coil resistance and condition.

The fuel-injection computer does not use this signal to set or adjust any of the operating parameters of the ignition or fuel-injection system form these readings. That is why it does not affect the way your bike runs, nor will hurt your bike in any way. This is what is meant by "Diagnostic purposes only." It is also why non-fuel-injected bikes and have no ’check engine light” issues. They have the same motor and hard parts as fuel-injected bikes, they just don’t have an ION sensor.

We hope this explanation of just what is going on and why, will show you that there is "No Magic" to ignition neon, just science. We also hope after getting the real reason as to why this is happening from us, as opposed to the lame explanations given by other companies and by uniformed technicians, it will show who really knows what is going on in the neon ignition world, and who is just winging it.
